This is the first and only lens that can be modified AFTER surgery to optimize visual outcomes. This revolutionary technology means cataract patients can trial and experience their vision “test drive” and once satisfied, can customise their vision up to three (3) times before locking it in, offering the most precise and premium results available in the market.

What are Light Adjustable Lenses?

A Light Adjustable Lens is an advanced artificial lens implanted during cataract surgery, just like a standard intraocular lens. Existing technology is very good in providing excellent outcomes. However, it cannot predict how your eye will heal, how the artificial lens will sit inside the eye and importantly does not provide the patient an opportunity to trial their vision with the option of modifying it after surgery. Your vision is customised depending upon your preferences, how your eye heals and how you see in real life.

Following surgery, controlled ultraviolet (UV) light treatments are used to gently and painlessly adjust the lens power. This allows your eye surgeon to customise your vision based on how your eye actually heals and how you see in real life.

How the Adjustment Process Works

Lens Implantation
The Light Adjustable Lens is implanted during cataract surgery using the same safe, well-established techniques as standard lenses.

Healing Period
Your eye is allowed to heal and stabilise over several weeks.

Vision Customisation
You return for a series of brief in-office light treatments. Each treatment fine-tunes the lens power to improve clarity at distance, near, or both—based on your visual goals and how you see the world. For precision, not prediction.

Lens Lock-In
Once the desired vision is achieved, the lens is “locked in” with final light treatments to permanently set the prescription.
